Cristina Papi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Literature with a specialization in Music and Theatre and a Diploma in Piano from the Conservatory of Florence, Italy under the guidance of Maestro G. Cardini and Musical Education. She completed her formation in Paris and Edinburgh studying theatre and cinema for several years. Her activities, primarily of contemporary works, alternate between music and performance/installation. She participated in the exhibition Sonorous Landscapes in 2001, recording a CD with vocal and instrumental improvisations. She performed in an exhibition at Le Giubbe Rosse in Florence, Italy with the theatre company Chille della Baldanza, with whom she also collaborated in the show Kamikaze; 11 September 2002. In 2003 she presented a performance-installation 365 Steps at the Studio-Gallery of Paolo Nitto in Noto, Italy. In February 2004 she realized the musical performance La Vie en Rose. She was a selected artist at the Contemporary Arts Event at the Exhibition Fucine Tillanza in Pistoia, Italy in 2004 where she presented her audio installation Je Me Souviens. At the exhibition Ten Artists for Peace in Arezzo she presented a video installation Memoire: alleret retour. At the festival Scandicci Estate 2004 she presented the video installation Satin and at Networking 2004 she presented the video Luminitza. She exhibited in a one-woman show at Vera-Pietra-Serena, Florence in 2005, presenting the video installation Le Calle de la Mariposa. At Traccie Fuoricentro 2005 she presented the performance ‘Affera Sospesa…’, and an installation Butterflies’Room at Di Cocco Festival. She was a selected artist also for the realization of a performance and a photo exhibition L’Espoir in CreArt Crespina, Pisa. In 2007 with A.Ferrara she presented and performed at the Teatro Studio di Scandicci, Scandicci, for La Scena all’Arte, Ofelie, Living Score Performance. She has exhibited and performed with many artists and theatre companies, including: l’Argot, la LUT, Bedlam Theatre, LIIT, A. Ferrara, A. Rinaldi. She lives and works in Florence, Palermo and Paris.
