Projected on a wall 5-6 meters wide five life-size nudes shoulder-to-shoulder, immobile at the edge of a white wall. They hold a cloth in their hands which they pass between them as if it were an idealized thread of Arianna; as the cloth passes by two of the five it covers them, hiding a by-gone youthfulness. The fifth actor is the only one seen in profile, portrayed a step away from the others and completely nude, observes the others. It’s a family seen from behind: an old woman, a mother with two daughters and a father. There is a small labyrinth traced in red on the ground in the center of the room; at the entrance is written: “Je me souviens”.
JE ME SOUVIENS
At the end of the labyrinth there is a small white cloth folded up and laid on the ground. The images alternate, sustained by a soundtrack composed for the occasion. The projection is cyclic, at first the images alternate one at a time, then in pairs of two, then three and four. The installation is an autobiographic voyage through memory.
